Deciding whether to come to therapy or not is up to you!

Common benefits of therapy are improved relationships, improvements in physical health, better coping skills to manage stress, and being able to change long-standing unhelpful behavioral patterns.

  • The length of treatment varies widely depending on each person’s needs and wants. I am constantly trying to work myself out of a job. Some clients meet for short period of time and others meet for extended periods or even years. I will never recommend treatment length beyond what I think is clinically necessary.

  • I do not accept insurance of any kind. I am happy to provide a superbill for you to submit to your insurer for potential reimbursement.

  • A superbill is a detailed invoice outlining the services a client received. The client submits the superbill directly to the insurer, giving the insurer all the information they need to pay the claim. Each insurer is different in how much they will reimburse.

  • Absolutely! This is often a great option for most individuals.

  • I reserve a handful of spots on my caseload for those in need of a sliding scale. If you require sliding scale assistance, please inquire if a spot is available.

  • My rates are based on comparable rates to other therapists in the vicinity, as well as my level of education, experience, and expertise. I love what I do and take my job seriously. Therefore, I am always listening to podcasts, reading professional books or research, and attending training above and beyond what is required. I strive to provide the very best care I can. I also spend time coordinating with outside providers and spend my mental energy thinking about how to help you even when you aren’t in front of me.

  • If you cancel a session within 24 hours prior to your appointment, you will be charged the full session fee. I do not like to be the judge as to whether the reason is “good enough,” so this policy applies no matter the reason.

  • No. Only a medical doctor, psychiatrist, or nurse practitioner is able to prescribe psychotropic medication. I am happy to coordinate with your medication provider regarding any recommendations or observations that may be relevant to your medication needs.

  • Intake sessions are 90 minutes. We will talk about your reasons for seeking services, what you hope to gain from attending therapy, mental health history, medical history, social history, and family history. Before your intake, I will ask you to fill out paperwork, including a questionnaire. This paperwork is reviewed before we meet so we have time for the important topics and so you do not have to re-tell everything over and over again. I’ll show up ready to jump in.

  • Yes. I use a HIPPA-compliant video software system that allows you to meet from anywhere you have an internet connection.

  • Yes. I have days in which I only work virtually and days I meet in person.

  • If you are a new or nursing mother, you may bring your infant to the session. However, due to the confidential nature of therapy, older children are not permitted in session or to be left unattended in the waiting room. I also ask that children not be present during virtual couples sessions.
